SNP self-care pack - August 7th

Here is to self-care in all its shapes and forms. And this ones packaged up in pasta, cheese and bread. I’ve pulled together my favourites from Penny's Cheese Shop, PiOki Bakery, Pasta Vera Sydney, Vincent and Dupree Hair, Drnks and Galluzzo's to create another #SaturdayNightPasta #selfcare pack for this Saturday (7th August).


Featuring beautiful basil and spinach tagliolini that you will slowly but surely toss through a melted mound of the greatest cheese in the whole wide world, La Tur (for those of you who are yet to meet this wonder, it’s a super creamy, soft Italian cheese made from a mix of cow's, sheep's and goat's milk and takes me right back to the streets of Piedmont – thank me later) which you will shower in Grana Padano from the very same region in Italy. You’ll mop the bowl up with garlic and rosemary focaccia and finish off the meal with a sprightly bunch of local rocket, with the option of washing it all down with a bottle of thoughtfully matched Nebbiolo (yep from the same region in Italy as the cheese) via Drnks. And because you’ll no doubt be eating it in your trackpants, the pack also includes a calming eye mask (for what promises to give an “instant lifting effect”)  by French beauty brand La Biosthetique. This is my kinda self-care.



300 g freshly made basil and spinach tagliolini 

100-150 g chunk of Grana Padano from Piedmont via Penny's Cheese shop 

200 g La Tur - a mixed milk Robiola from Piedmont via Penny's Cheese shop 

1 x mini garlic and rosemary fococcia from PiOki Bakery

1 x big bunch of locally grown rocket

1 x eye patch mask "Patch Gel Liftant" from La Biosthetique

2019 Poderi Cellario Galli

100% Nebbiolo.
Hand-harvested into small bins. Spontaneous fermentation with 10 days maceration. Aged in large format neutral oak barrels for 12 months and bottle for 6 months. Bottled with minimal sulphur and without sterile filtering or fining. A classic.

La Tur - a mixed milk Robiola from Piedmont, ITALY
"This is one special cheese. A bloomy rind - using geotrichum (the wrinkly white mould) for ripening it has Cow, Sheep and Goat milk. When it is young it is a bit acidic/ lemony fresh and when it ripens it gets soft oozy pockets and has texture like Messina melting gelato. We like to think there is life before La Tur and then after… its a life changing cheese."

Fiandino - Grana Padano, Piedmont ITALY
"Grana Padano can be made anywhere in Northern Italy…. And aside from raw cows’ milk and size there’s little that stipulates how it is aged and made. We choose Fiandino because it is amongst the best, it is made on farm with the milk from Bruna Alpina cows."
